Insights on creative nonfiction and nurturing creativity

a little about me...

Born and raised in NYC, I’m a first-generation Cuban and Ecuadorian writer. Currently, I’m finishing my first book, an epistolary memoir called How Things You Can't Remember Live. My work excavates multicultural upbringing while considering history, forced migration, intergenerational trauma, and the roles so often imposed on us. Even when writing something painful, I enjoy weaving together stories of belonging, resilience, and the transformative power of nature. (Psst, not just plants, animals, and the outdoors. You too are nature.)

The exchange and creation of art can be essential for our survival. I’m here to share what I’m learning, as I learn it, in order to encourage others to create with care, and find connection through art.

Leading with curiosity and care, I’m an emerging writer working toward my first book, sharing the process as I go. Welcome.

There is no greater agony than bearing an untold story inside you.
